About
Emily Thompson is an abstract artist from the North East of the UK. She went from Newcastle College to the University of Sunderland where she studied and received a First-Class BA Honours degree in Fine Art. Whilst studying, she was introduced to a wide range of creative mediums including, drawing, painting, ceramics, screen print, graphic design, photography, and film.
Since graduating she has experimented and worked in many creative industries including graphic design, web design, sublimation printing and screen printing, whilst always maintaining a personal creative practise of painting, printing, and digital artworks. In 2019 she was a member of Northern Print Studio where she screen printed all of her own work. Most recently she has been experimenting with digital art and launched her first NFT collection in April 2022.
Emily’s work is a combination of her love of art with her interest in mathematical aspects of art, geometric forms, patterns, and sequences. Most of her work is geometric based with pieces heavily influenced by the Fibonacci sequence. She is inspired by nature, bold shapes, and bright colours.
